17th Connecticut Memorial Flagpole

Location: East Howard Avenue, Barlow’s Knoll.

GPS: 39° 50.725′ N, 77° 13.572′ W.

Description: Erected by National Park Commission. Commemorates services of the 17th Connecticut at the Battle of Gettysburg. Located at Barlow Knoll near the 153rd Pennsylvania Monument. This metal pole replaces an earlier wooden pole erected by regimental veterans that marked their position on July 1. Erected by the Walworth Steel Flagpole, Walworth Mfg. Co., Boston, Mass.
