Maryland State Monument
Dedicated: Nov. 13, 1994.
Location: Taneytown Road near the old Cyclorama Building location.
Description: Two figures of uniformed Civil War soldiers stand on a rectangular base. The figures lean on each other for support as they walk. They are both hatless, and appear to be walking from the field after a battle. A relief of a Maryland State Seal is affixed to the front of the base. Statue titled “Marylander Helping Marylander” or “The Final Tribute.” It commemorates all Marylanders involved in fighting. Depicts Union soldier and Confederate soldier assisting each other.
