Biesecker Woods

Location: Located on east edge of the woods at Emmitsburg Road.

Description: One of thirty-five site tablets. Cast iron site tablet was designed by E.B. Cope. Mounted on fluted post, overall height is three feet. Woods were used to shelter and screen movements of CS infantry and artillery on July 2-4, 1863.
