Jones’ Artillery Battalion
The artillery battalion attached to Early’s Division of Ewell’s Corps of the Army of Northern Virginia.
Commander: Lt. Col. Hilary P. Jones (July 13, 1833-1913). Teacher from Virginia; his son, also named Hilary P. Jones, was a prominent U.S. Navy admiral. Jones reached the rank of colonel and was the I Corps chief of artillery under R.H. Anderson.
