One of five infantry brigades in Rodes’s Division of Ewell’s Corps of the Army of Northern Virginia. This was originally Rodes’s Brigade.

Commander: Col. Edward A. O’Neal (September 20, 1818 – November 7, 1890). Alabamian; pre-war judge, post-war governor of Alabama. His promotion to general was cancelled by Lee, probably for his lack of performance at Gettysburg.

Strength: 1,688

Losses: 696; 90 killed, 422 wounded, 184 missing.
