Commander: Brig. Gen. Cadmus M. Wilcox (May 20, 1824 – December 2, 1890). Born in NC; grew up in Tennessee. USMA 1846. Professional soldier. Rose to the rank of major general. Served as a railroad official.

Strength: 1,726.

Losses: 778; 78 killed, 443 wounded, 257 missing.
