One of five brigades in the Army of the Potomac’s Artillery Reserve.
Commander: Col. Freeman McGilvery (October 17, 1823 – September 3, 1864). Sailor from Maine. He was slightly wounded in the hand at Deep Bottom on August 16; his finger became infected, and he died of a chloroform overdose during surgery to amputate it.

Losses: 93; 17 killed, 71 wounded, 5 missing.
