One of three divisions in the First Corps, Army of the Potomac.
Commander: Brig. Gen. John C. Robinson (April 10, 1817 – February 18, 1897). Career soldier from New York. He was expelled from USMA for insubordination, read law, and joined the army as a 2nd lieutenant. He won the Medal of Honor at Spotsylvania where he lost his leg. Post-war lieutenant governor of New York.
