One of three brigades in Doubleday’s Division of the First Corps.

Commander: Brig. Gen. George J. Stannard (October 20, 1820 – June 1, 1886). Vermont farmer and teacher. Lost his right arm during the Petersburg Campaign; served after the War as doorkeeper for the U.S. House of Representatives.

Strength: 1,950

Losses: 351; 45 killed, 274 wounded, 32 missing.
