Cross Avenue
Erected: 1896.
Location: Two tablets constructed by War Department to mark Cross Avenue. Located at beginning of Cross Avenue at Sickles Avenue and at the midpoint of the avenue.
Constructed in 1906, and starting south in Rose Woods at Sickles and Ayres Avenues, Brooke/Cross/De Trobriand Avenue loops back northwest to Sickles Avenue, at lower end of the Wheatfield. Cross Ave designates area where Cross’ Brigade was engaged on July 2.
Description: Cast iron avenue tablet designed by E.B. Cope. Mounted on fluted post, overall height is three feet.
