Benner Farm
The Josiah Benner Farm is located on the west side of the (Old) Harrisburg Road, on the north side of Rock Creek. The farmhouse, barn (which was built in 1850), and spring house were witnesses to Early’s assault on Barlow’s Division. After Early’s Division took Barlow’s Knoll, the Benner Farm served as a field hospital; General Barlow was treated here.
The American Battlefield Trust and the National Park Service partnered to save the Benner Farm, saving 12 of the original 123 acres.
The Josiah Benner Farm is Confederate Hospital #3 on the Adams County Historical Society’s hospital tour.
