McMillan Farm

The David McMillan farmhouse is located on West Confederate Avenue, just south of the intersection with the Fairfield Road. The twenty acre apple orchard northeast of the house, which has been replanted by the NPS across from the house, was the largest orchard on the battlefield.

David McMillan was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Gettysburg. Pegram’s Battalion was located on this property during the battle.

The McMillan House today is a private residence surrounded by Gettysburg National Military Park. It remained in the McMillan family until the 1950s.
