Weikert Farm (George Weikert)

The George Weikert Farm is located at the intersection of Hancock, Sedgwick, and United States Avenues. This farm was 78 acres in size and the house dates to 1798. The Weikerts fled and their farm (and the house in particular) became a field hospital; they returned to find dozens of soldiers buried on their property. After the battle, the New Jersey Brigade purchased the parcel to commemorate where they stood at Gettysburg.
